SAP (Skill Acquisition Program) Trials

SAP TRIALS 2020

PBFC, in association with NNSW Football, will run the Skills Acquisition Program (SAP) for our 3rd year in 2020.  This year we are delivering the program to U9, U10 and U11 players.
Trials for a position in the SAP squad will be held over 2 sessions:
  • Sunday Feb 23rd  9am registration for 9:30am-11:30am session  –  TWEED SUPER SPORTS, 14/18 CHINDERAH BAY DRIVE, CHINDERAH  and  
  • Wednesday Feb 26th at 5:00pm – 6:00pm  – POTTSVILLE BEACH PUBLIC SCHOOL (normal runners plus footy boots pls)
Trials will be held at PBFC Fields, Koala Beach. Players must attend both trial sessions, if held.
Trials are open to both male and female players born:
  • U11 born 2009. A team of 12 players will be selected.
  • U10 born 2010. A team of 12 players will be selected.
  • U9 born 2011, 2012. A squad of up to 18 players selected.
The Skill Acquisition Program is an exciting venture by Northern NSW Football licenced to PBFC.
SAP is a step in the Talented Player Pathway (TPP).  It provides a clear, professionally delivered development opportunity for young footballers in NSW which underpins the National Premier Leagues NSW Men’s and Women’s competitions.
Players must be registered with PBFC to enter trials.  Online club registration opens February 1st 2020

The 2020 SAP Program for U10/11 will consist of:
  •  training regime of 2 sessions per week (Wednesdays and Fridays) over 25 weeks with qualified SAP coaches. Training will commence  Wednesday 4th March.
  • 5-6 x SAP Gala Days (Sundays), competing against other local/regional SAP clubs.
  • U10 and U11 will play Miniroos (Saturday) games as a team in a competitive pool.
  • Teams will enter the Gold Coast Premier Invitational Carnival 9-11th July (additional cost) and other possible carnivals TBA.
  • U11 players will have opportunity to trial for FNC State Championships team.
  • Cost of the program will be $255 (includes NNSWF SAP fee, training strip, ball, drink bottle, coaching fees, PFBC electricity levy). Fees due by April 30.
