The National Spectator Code of Conduct
PBFC would like to remind spectators to our grounds of The National Spectator Code of Conduct, which outlines expected behavior for spectators at sporting events, emphasising respect, fair play, and responsible conduct. It generally covers respecting officials, avoiding violence, discrimination, and harassment, and complying with venue rules. Specific codes may vary slightly by sport and organization, but the core principles remain consistent.
Key Principles of the National Spectator Code of Conduct:
Respect for Officials:
Spectators should accept the decisions of match officials without abuse or recourse. Especially Junior referees.
Respect for Participants:
Spectators should treat all participants, including players, coaches, and other officials, with respect and dignity, regardless of their background or beliefs.
Prohibition of Violence and Abuse:
Spectators should not engage in any form of violence, harassment, or abuse, including the use of offensive language or gestures.
Respect for the Game:
Spectators should not disrupt the game, interfere with players or officials, or throw projectiles onto the field.
Compliance with Venue Rules:
Spectators should adhere to all terms of admission, including those related to security, prohibited items, and other venue-specific rules.
Avoiding Discrimination and Harassment:
Spectators should not engage in any form of discrimination, harassment, or abuse, including that based on gender, race, religion, or other characteristics.
Consequences of Violations:
Violations of the Code of Conduct can result in sanctions, including being banned from attending future events.
